Everybody practices or have different bedtime routines in order to get a good night sleep.
All of us have heard about the importance getting not only enough sleep but good quality sleep. However, its no mystery that some nights sleeping becomes a nightmare. It could be the result of a stressful day, or because of eating to close to bedtime, or an infinite amount of reasons.
Here are some tips to help you get a good night’s sleep:
1. Do not eat large quantities of food before bed.
Our bodies require a long time to digest entire meals; since our body is working so hard instead of resting it will affect the quality and quantity of sleep.
2. Take a warm shower before going to bed.
Nothing is more relaxing than taking a warm shower before going to bed. The change in our body temperature will help us fall asleep faster.
3. Avoid drinking water close to bedtime.
It is important to be hydrated, but unless you want to wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, this is not the best time to drink it. Make sure to keep hydrated during the day and avoid it before sleep.
4.Sleep in a dark room
Turn off all the lights and any electronic devices that can distract you from sleeping, and let your body relax and rest for the whole night.
5. Make sure your bedding is comfortable
Your bed is the space where you spend a significant part of our day, and not just sleeping. Make sure you make this space the best and most comfortable place to rest. Make sure it’s clean (change your bedding once a week), choose natural and healthy materials (organic bedding, toxic free, allergen free).
Remember that the time to sleep is important for our health, but beyond helping us with our health or mood sleep makes us feel fully of energy. Your body is going to work better during the day, and even better your weight will also reflect it.
